摘要：NEW MATERIAL:An azetidinone derivative shown by the formula I (R<1> andR<2> are H or protecting group; R<3> is alkyl or H). EXAMPLE: 1-Benzyl-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-4-(1-methoxycarbonylethenyl)-2-azetidinone. USE:A raw material for anintermediate of 1beta-methylcarbapenem antibiotic to be expected as a beta-lactamantibiotic of IV generation. PREPARATION:An ethynylazetidinone shown by the formula IIis subjected to hydroxyalkoxycarbonylation in the presence of a metal of group VIII or acompound of the metal, an alcohol and carbon monoxide and optionally hydrolyzed, togive an azetidinone derivative shown by the formula I.
