1. Writing – A one-day tour in Beijing (Activity 11&12)
(1) Teacher: Since we’ve learned the text, now let’s try writing a tour plan according to it.
Suppose you are working for a travel agency. Your manager wants you to make a plan for a one-day trip in Beijing.
Discuss the plan in pairs with the help of the pictures.

One-day Tour in Beijing Beijing is the capital of China. It’s a city with a long history. We have a one-day tour plan for you. In the morning, you’ll start the day at the Great Wall, an excellent place to know the history of China. At noon, you can go to the Summer Palace to go boating and enjoy the beautiful view. Teacher: Now you’ll be divided into groups of 4 or 6 and discuss together to finish a task. Listen
carefully. The task is:
You and your partners work for a travel agency. I’m the manager. I’d like you to design a two-day trip to Xiamen city. (Clear? / Have you got that?) I’ll give you some time to work in groups and make a travel brochure. Then I’ll select the
best one. (Do you know how to do it? If not, I’ll give you some steps.)
(1) Step One: “What scenic spots do you know in Xiamen city?” 1) Get the students to brainstorm.

Teacher: Here are some advertisement brochures. Aren’t they beautiful? There is some important
information to make the people easily understand their purpose. Also, they make some necessary decoration on the brochures, which make them attractive.
2) Hand out the paper that has been printed the forms on.
Teacher: Now, I’ve given you a simple brochure, on which some forms have been printed. Please discuss how to introduce Xiamen city and how to organize a two-day trip. Your travel brochure should include the following information. 3) Give brief explanations.
