A survey of college students’ time planning
Last Saturday, when I was on line in the computer room, my best friend phoned me: What are you doing? I’m individual studying, will you come with me? Her words stroke me like a ton of stone. “I was playing computer, watching movies on line.” I said, my fingers died suddenly, lying on the mouse. I turned off the movie, keeping a silence, “why could she do in time as her plan lined, while I even couldn’t remember when my plan did die young?” My heart was breezing. ” I can't imagine my future without any plans and practice. It’s terrible!
There was a time in the university that everyone studying, fighting for their future, their homeland with Inestimable enthusiasm and patriotism. Now money worship and utilitarianism are filling with campus. The corrosion of the new generation of youth is intensifying gradually.
On my way to bedroom, every cell in my body was crying sadly. What bothered me most was how ridiculously I had cheated myself time and time again so that to satisfy my playful heart.
What’s our college students’ life like? What are their time-planning for daily life? What’s their true happiness? What’s their prospect about their future? There was a saying,” university is a place to enjoy yourself rather than study all day and night.” But does it mean that we spend our days without any plans? One way to test this would need a questionnaire in our college? What amazing problems will be found? Whether are we so-called college students leading a
planning and happy life?
The idea intrigued me.
Last week, we four, roommates, carried out the great task. We started carpet type search from canteen to the commercial street, from library to lawn, from dormitory to supermarket. My first choice was canteen, a symbol of all the awkward I’d have to conquer during this action
Only half a week we handed out 400 pieces of questionnaire, running around every corner. I was so sorry to disturb them, while most of them were in a hurry to depart. In the commercial street and lawn, I came across some senior brothers and sisters in grade four who were preparing to attend the recruitment. They talked about their occupational planning after graduation while most of us freshmen are in daze about our future!
One day when I passed by the playground, I was soul-stirred by the energetic sports. They were running, smiling ahead for their finishing line, even for their great future. In my opinion, there is no finishing line, but enjoy the journey. As is known to us,” Life lies in movement”. We are supposed to keep regular hours, leading a colorful and fulfilled life. But the research showed that only10% of us keep balance with intellectual labor and manual labor. It’s miraculous for us new youth.
What’s worse, one day I was shocked by the miserable situation that when I
came in my friend’s dormitory, there was a mess and lying a person on the bed. About half past ten, her roommate was awake, turning on her MP5, watching movies.
I was puzzled for a while. Is she happy, fulfilled? Is her life meaningful? It’s a waste of time and youth.
Last Sunday in dining hall, a thought-provoking scene came into my vision. An “angle” was reading, bathing under the sunshine, in the front of the canteen. “excuse me, senior sister, could you apply an questionnaire for me? ” ”oh, yes, I’m glad to.” Her smile was charming, moved me. “This questionnaire is close to us students, I can’t agree more. Time planning is so important to our life and future.” She had a look at me, smiling. Now we are talking, I thought. I was full of the sense of accomplishment. ”millions of thanks”, I said. Her impressed smile conveys her confidence and optimistic attitude towards her life. Then she wrote and read on and on. I nosed forward, looking back, lost in thought. She is an ambitious female who is full of dynamic for her pursue. Why she is my angle was her attitude, keeping smiling. We all have our paradise in mind, but only when we apply what we planned, can we say we have made it.
The questionnaire showed that 90% of us xingzhi college students have plans, but only 10% will finish it on time. Now my question is clearly answered. It’s a tragedy for ourselves even our nation. If we are addicted to our illusions without practice, it seems to run contrary to our nice wishes, thoroughly. So let’s start from now on, for it’s our responsibility obligation to make an proper
arrangement for our college life.
