We are what we are!

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! Today, the topic of my speech is “We are what we are!”

In the early 90s of twentieth century, we, a specialist generation called “post-90s” came to the world.

Yes, we are special: we are the only child in our family; we are receiving good education from the very moment we were born; and we are treated as the apple of our parents’ eyes. However, our world is filled with loneliness: we can not bear the heavy stress of competition; we can not afford to let our parents down; and to make matters worse, we cannot find a buddy to share our sorrow entirely. The circumstance lasted a long time until one day, the Internet flooded into our world. We started to play computer games, chat online and do everything possible on the net. Gradually, we learned to let off our pressure in the virtual world, and we enjoyed speaking out our word in a fashionable way. Nonetheless, nearly at the same time, our parents started to worry .Concerned about their kids’ study, they prevent us from indulging in the net. Some families even quarreled fiercely on this matter. It is true that some websites are harmful. They have unhealthy information, and they spread incorrect thoughts. But most of us have the ability to distinguish right from wrong. Moreover we have learned to take the advantages of the net. Through the net, we propagate the importance of the environmental protection; we appeal the public to pay attention to the handicapped; and we call for the awareness of saving natural resources. We want to tell the public that we are not of no use as they considered. On the contrary, we have made contributions to the world in our own way, in the net way.

In the net ear, our life changed a lot. Net words can be found everywhere; news can be spread in a second; and communication can be done in varieties of ways. We are proud that we are the net generation!

We are post-90s, a generation who can’t stand mediocrity.

We are post-90s, a generation who have achieved many goals that adults even can’t dream of.

We are post-90s, a generation who gradually learned to rely on ourselves. We keep our own personality, and we walk out our own way! We are what we are!
