Generalcommentontiming(dpc):InjudgingthelowerandupperrangesofdpcequivalenttoaparticularTheilerstage,wehavegenerallyfollowedTheiler'sbookand,inmostcases,havegivenawiderrangethanTheiler,becausethenumbersofembryoshecitesaresmall.Wehavegivenalargerrangeatthemaximumthantheminimumbecause,ingeneral,embryosaremorelikelytoberetardedbytheirenvironmentorgeneticconstitutionthanmadetoproceedmorequicklythroughdevelopment.Inmostcases,however,theresultingdpcrangeisanestimatethatisconsistentwiththeresultsofTheiler,butnotbasedonadditionalevidence.

Commentonsomitenumbers:Therangeofsomitenumbersforeachstageisgivenonlyasaguidetowhatmightbeexpectedoftypicalembryos.AscanbeseenfromTheiler(1989)4thetrue
