In the US, high school students take the SAT exam to try for a spot at their dream university. In China, that all-or-nothing exam is the gaokao, the national college entrance examination known as the single-log bridge students have to carefully cross to reach the next stage of their lives.

A Little Reunion, a hit TV drama that puts the spotlight on gaokao, came to an end on Tuesday, wrapping up heated discussions on social media over the past month. The drama attracts an audience of all age groups by focusing on three families — an optimistic couple with a poorly-performing son and a genius nephew; a divorced couple who later reunites for the sake of their daughter; and a pair of officials struggling to reconnect with their rebellious son after a six-year absence from his life.

Many audience members took to social media, saying they also suffered from insomnia(失眠) ahead of gaokao like the character Yingzi did in the show, and confessing their mothers are also \"control freaks\" like Song Qian, Yingzi's mother. \"Once again I dreamt of sitting in the classroom to answer questions in the senior year of high school. It made me so nervous and I was still at a loss after waking up. \" reads a Weibo post.

Such posts and comments have been common since the series came out a month ago. Gaokao, viewed as the most likely means of upward social status — especially for those from rural families and low-income households — is inarguably the biggest challenge for candidates and their parents, resulting in stronger familial bonds as children and parents share anxiety, tears and joy together.

Gaokao — the reservoir of national memories — the show with stories unfolding in three households has attracted millions of audience members by enabling them to see themselves in the characters and recall their own stories.

A. SAT is easier than the national college entrance examination.

B. Chinese students should be careful with the national college entrance examination. C. Students both in America and China should take an examination to go to college. D. Gaokao is only for some students from upward social status.

5.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “confessing ”in paragraph 4? A.agreeing B. admitting C. arguing D. concluding

6.According to the passage ,which of the following statements is TRUE ?

A. The couple divorced because their daughter would participate in Gaokao. B. Someone suffers a lot of pain while preparing for Gaokao.

C. For someone , Gaokao is so unforgettable that they dream of experiencing it again.

D. A Little Reunion is more than a TV drama,but a memory.

Fish is an important food for many people. In some places, it is the only animal protein to be found. For years, scientists have worried about supplies of ocean fish. As wild catches have decreased, many nations have turned to fish farming.

Fish farming has long been considered a way to improve the diets of people in developing areas, such as China,India, Japan and Thailand . The F.A.O.(联合国粮农组织)says developing nations produce ninety percent of all farmed fish.

But there are some problems connected with fish farming. Some critics say it can cause not just water pollution. They say there is also \"genetic pollution\" when farmed fish reproduce with wild fish.

Other critics say that farming some kinds of seafood is wasteful. They argue that salmon and eel, for example, eat more resources than they provide. Often they are fed with products prepared for wild fish.

Also, a recent study of farmed salmon found that their food may contain higher levels of industrial pollution than salmon eat in the wild. But these levels were still well within legal limits.

Another issue involves the lack of international rules about the use of antibiotics(抗生素) in farming. Some farmers feed these drugs to fish, just like cows and other animals, to prevent infections. The F.A.O. notes that there can be health risks to humans who eat the drugs through their food. Experts are concerned that this also reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics.

The farmed fish industry is growing quickly in Asia. It is also growing in other parts of the world, including North America. But scientists say most kinds of wild fish have been harvested too much. Farmed fish can help reduce pressure on populations in the wild. Still, experts and organizations like the F.A.O. warn that just like any other kind of farming, good methods are required.

7. The reason why fish framing began is that _____.

A. fish has the most protein B. fish is good for health C. wild fish has decreased

D. fish farming is popular in developing countries

8.According to the critics, which of the following statements they don’t agree with? A. Fish farming can not only result in water pollution, but change the genes of fish. B. Farmed fish eat both their supplies and food for wild fish. C. The antibiotics misuse does harm to human health.

D. Farmed salmon eat food containing more industrial pollution than wild fish. 9.What would the author discuss in the paragraph that follows? A. The rapid development of farmed fish. B. The harvest of wild fish

C. The warnings from experts and organizations

D. The methods that would be taken to solve the problem 10.What’s the best title of this passage?

A. Fish Farming in some parts of the world

B. More Fishes demanded in the developing countries C. The fish industry throughout the globe D. Ways of fishing in the world
