E-mail English is a new kind of written English that many people use. Lots of e-mail English words look like rubbish. Usually we can’t use them. They are used in chatting online. We are supposed to type quickly, or the other person will be bored.

E-mail English uses kinds of new words. The first kind is made up of the first letters of the words in the phrase. These are called acronyms. The second one is called homophone. For example, CU means 〝see you〞.

E-mail English is used to save time. It’s like writing riddles. We can understand it ourselves. But our friends, parents and teachers might not. E-mail English is great for writing quickly. But lots of teachers say th at e-mail English should only be used in e-mail to one’s friends.

5、May 1st Friday Fine

Today my parents didn’t go to work and I didn’t go to school, so we went to visit Science Museum in our city. It’s about five kilometers away from my home. We decided to go there by bus. We set off at eight o’clock in the morning. At the museum we saw many photos, models and other old but interesting things. We learned a lot and knew more about Chinese science history. I saw a lot of children with their parents, students with their teachers and some foreigners. At ten thirty we left the museum for home. We had a wonderful day and I made up my mind to study hard. 6、Visiting the Great Wall

There are many places of interest in Beijing. And my favorite one is the Great Wall.

The Great Wall is considered as one of the seven wonders of the world. It’s about six or seven metres high and four or five metres wide. It has a long history of 2,500 years. It was built by the Ancient Chinese working people.

When we stood on it, we saw around. There are mountains around it. It looked like a huge dragon, magnificent and grand. It’s so famous that many people coming from every parts of the world visit it. The Great Wall is the pride of our nation. 7、 Changes for healthy lifestyle

Living a healthy lifestyle is very important. I used to play videogames all day long. One day, a friend invited me to play table tennis. When my friend is busy I go out to the park for a walk to get some fresh air. The hardest part about keeping a healthy lifestyle is not eating s o many snacks or too much fast food. 8、How to keep healthy?

It is important to have a healthy body. More and more people want to keep in good health. But h ow to keep healthy? I have some ideas. First we should eat healthy food.\"An apple a day keeps the doctor away\". So we should eat more vegetables and fruits to instead junk foods. We should drink milk everyday, too. Second we should exercise a lot. Doing sports is a good way to keep healthy. Third we should have a good hobby. And we should have a good rest ,too. Just do like this, then we will have a healthy body.

10、 Praise is like sunlight to our spirit. It gives us confidence and hope. However, this heavenly gift usually shows up unexpectedly.

In junior high, it seemed fashion was never my cup of tea, for I had neither a lovely face nor an attractive figure. I found it boring and even heart-breaking to go shopping.

The time came when we had to dress up for the prom. Unwillingly, joined my friends on the trip to Macy's. Unsurely, I tried on a bright violet flowered dress and stepped out of the dressing room. A good-looking lady was standing there. She glanced at me, smiled and said, 〝I love your dress.\" She had no idea how much her praise meant to me. These magic words touched my heart and I started to love my imperfect appearance.

I appreciated that stranger's words of praise, which are not often heard. Now I keep reminding myself of the power of praise, even strangers, because we never know where it might lead.…

11、 Recently there has been a discussion among people in Huzhou about 〝 Is it good to go out by car ?〞 Some people think it’s good to go out by car. It’s very convenient to go out in their own cars. They will feel comfortable when they drive their cars. The drivers feel good driving the cars.

But other people don’t think it’s good to go out by car. More and more cars are in the street. It’s bad for our environment. It makes the air dirty and makes the streets crowded and noisy.

In my opinion, I hope more and more people go out by riding bikes or taking buses. It’s not only good for our environment, but our health as well. You will not worry about the place to park your cars. It’s better for you to ride or walk than driving your cars.

12、The first one tells us teachers should care more about their children’s self-esteem (自尊). The teachers don’t want to push the students too hard for fear of hurting their feelings. They encourage their students to find their own path.

The second one 〝wolf father〞 tells us parents should be strict with the children. Being strict is the only way to develop a child’s potential (潜能)and to make them strong, independent and successful.

13、Smile, how warm the word is! It can make anyone happy. And this happiness is from the

bottom of heart.

Smile is an attitude to life. In our life, there may be something unhappy. For example, you failed an exam. You are misunderstood by your classmates. Those things may make you feel sorry. What should you do? Just smile. Smile to yourself, and you will have confidence. Smile to others, and they will get closer to you. Smile is a good way.

So, let’s learn to smile. Everyone needs others’ smile. When we give others a smile, we will feel happy, too. And maybe next time, when you need a smile, the person who received your smile will give it back to you.
