Dear Sophie,

How are you? I'm having so much fun at my new school! I can't wait to tell you all about it. Get ready for a long letter because there is so much to share.

The school building itself is huge! It has three floors with classrooms, a library, computer lab, art room, music room, gym, cafeteria, and even a little theater. The hallways are painted bright colors like yellow and blue which makes everything feel cheerful and welcoming.

My favorite part is the playground outside. It's massive! There are swings, slides, monkey bars, a rock climbing wall, and plenty of open space to run around. During recess, my friends and I love playing tag, jumping rope, or just chasing each other. Sometimes we also play four square or hopscotch drawn with chalk on the blacktop.

Speaking of friends, I've made quite a few already! There's Emma who sits next to me in class. She's really good at math and helps me when I get stuck. Jacob is the class clown and is always cracking jokes to make us laugh. Sarah loves art just like me, and we trade drawings during free time. Michael is obsessed with sports and taught me how to kick a soccer ball properly. It's been easy making friends because everyone is so nice.

My teacher's name is Mrs. Roberts, and she is the best! She makes learning fun with songs, games, and activities. In the mornings, we start with a class meeting where we greet each other and share news or announcements. Then we have reading, writing, and math lessons where we get to do individual work, group projects, and even learning stations around the room. My favorite is the math games station with puzzles and card games for practicing our skills.

For other subjects like science and social studies, we sometimes watch videos, read books, or do experiments. Last week in science, we learned about the life cycle of butterflies and even got to watch tiny caterpillars form chrysalides right in our classroom! In social studies, we've been learning about mapping and made our own maps of the school and neighborhood. So many interesting things to explore!

We also have special classes each week like art, music, computer lab, and gym. Art is definitely my favorite because I love being creative with paints, clay, and all sorts of materials. In music, we sing songs and learn to play instruments like xylophones and drums. The computer lab is where we practice coding and typing games. Gym is super fun and active with dedicated time for exercising and playing games like kickball or capture the flag.

Does your school have a cafeteria for lunch? Ours is amazing! They have really yummy and nutritious meals like pizza, tacos, chicken nuggets, or pasta. There's always a variety of fruits and veggies too. My favorite is the smoothie bar where you can blend your own fruit smoothie. Of course, my least favorite is the Brussels sprouts. Yuck!

One of the best parts of the day is storytime when Mrs. Roberts reads us a chapter book. We're currently working our way through the Harry Potter series, and it's so magical and exciting! I can't wait to see what happens next. We also have quiet reading time to enjoy books from the library or classroom shelves.

Is your school different from mine? What are your favorite parts of the day? I'd love to hear about your school experiences

too. I'm having such an incredible time already, and I know this year is going to be packed with amazing adventures and memories! Your friend, [Your Name]

Dear Timmy,

How are you doing? I miss playing video games and trading baseball cards with you after school! Things have been really different since I started at my new school this year. I wanted to tell you all about my campus life and what it's like being a 5th grader here.

First of all, the school building itself is huge! It has three big floors with long hallways and so many classrooms. On the first day, I got lost trying to find my homeroom and was almost late. The cafeteria is also enormous - it looks like a restaurant in there with all the big tables and lunch ladies serving food. I was pretty nervous about getting my tray and finding a place to sit at first, but now I have a regular spot with some of my new friends.

Speaking of friends, it was hard making new ones at the beginning. Everyone already knew each other from last year and I was the new kid. But I met this really nice guy named Jake during recess on the playground. He saw me sitting alone on the swings and came over to introduce himself. Jake's a total goofball and is always making jokes to make people laugh. With his help, I've made a few other friends too like Emily and Aiden who are in my class. The four of us usually hang out together at recess playing kickball or just hanging around.

Oh man, you would not believe how much homework we get here! I thought 4th grade was bad with all the math worksheets and book reports, but 5th grade is just insane. Every night I have pages of math problems, reading comprehension questions, vocabulary words to define, science worksheets, and usually at least one essay or writing assignment due. I've had to really buckle down and manage my time better instead of playing video games right after school. My mom says it's good practice for getting ready for middle school.

The classes themselves are pretty interesting though. My favorite is probably science because we get to do a lot of hands-on experiments and projects. Just yesterday we did this cool experiment making baking soda and vinegar volcanoes! For

history, we're learning all about colonialism and the American Revolution right now which has been fascinating. English class is okay, but I'm not a huge fan of all the reading comprehension and writing we have to do. At least my teacher Mr. Jackson makes it kind of fun with group work and creative prompts. Phys ed is my favorite time of the day though! We get to go outside most days to the playground and play different sports and games. So far we've done units on soccer, basketball, baseball, and now we're starting gymnastics. I'm not very coordinated so the tumbling and balance beam stuff is pretty tough for me. dodgeball and capture the flag are way more my speed! Sometimes we also just get free play and I get to hang with my friends.

There are also a ton of clubs and activities you can join after school. I'm in the art club where we get to work on cool projects like painting, sculpting, and drawing. Jake and I both joined the chess club too because we're kind of nerds who are really into the game. I've tried to convince Emily and Aiden to join with us but they think it's too boring. There's also a coding club, French club, debate team, and even an urban gardening group! It's hard picking what to sign up for.

Another thing I really don't like is how early we have to be at school. The first bell rings at 7:30am! Can you believe that? My mom has to practically drag me out of bed most mornings. I'm seriously not a morning person at all. At least I get a good nap in during reading period most days.

All in all though, I'm really enjoying my new campus life here. It was definitely an adjustment at first, but I've made some good friends, am doing well in my classes, and am staying busy with clubs and activities. I miss being able to hang out as much, but we'll have plenty of time this summer to get

Dear friend,

I hope this letter finds you well! I'm so excited to share with you all about my school life here. It's been an amazing experience so far, filled with lots of fun, learning, and new adventures.

First of all, let me tell you about my school. It's a big building with many classrooms, a playground, and even a library! The classrooms are really cool, with colorful walls, comfy desks, and lots of posters and pictures to help us learn. My favorite part is

the big chalkboard at the front, where our teacher writes down all sorts of interesting things for us to learn.

Speaking of teachers, mine is the best! Her name is Mrs. Smith, and she's so kind and patient with us. She always makes learning fun by telling us stories, singing songs, and playing games. Whenever we have questions or get stuck, she's there to help us out and make sure we understand everything.

But school isn't just about sitting in class and listening to the teacher. We also get to do lots of fun activities! During recess, we all go out to the playground and run around, play tag, or swing on the swings. Sometimes, we even have races or play games like hopscotch or jump rope. It's a great way to burn off some energy and have fun with our friends.

One of my favorite parts of the day is lunchtime. We all bring our own lunches from home, and we get to sit together in the cafeteria and chat while we eat. It's a chance to catch up with our friends and swap stories about what we did over the weekend or what cool new toy someone got.

After lunch, we have more classes, but they're usually the fun ones like art, music, or gym. In art, we get to paint, draw, and make all sorts of cool crafts. In music, we learn to sing songs and

even play instruments like the recorder or the drums. And in gym, we get to play games and do exercises to stay healthy and active. One of the best things about school is all the friends I've made. We all come from different backgrounds and have different interests, but we've become like a little family. We help each other out when someone is struggling, we share our snacks and toys, and we always have each other's backs. Sometimes, school can be a little challenging or

overwhelming, but that's okay. Our teachers and parents are always there to support us and help us through it. And at the end of the day, we get to go home feeling accomplished and proud of all the things we've learned.

I could go on and on about my school life, but I'll wrap it up for now. I hope this letter has given you a little glimpse into my world here. It's been such an incredible journey so far, and I can't wait to see what other adventures and experiences are in store for me.

Dear Jimmy,

How are you doing? I miss seeing you at school every day! Things have been pretty crazy since I started at my new

elementary school a few months ago. I want to tell you all about what my life is like on campus so you can picture it.

First off, the school buildings and grounds are huge! The main academic building has three floors with long hallways lined with classrooms. My homeroom class is on the second floor. We have these cool lockers in the hallway to store our backpacks and jackets. The cafeteria is in a separate building - it's like a little restaurant just for kids! They have these long tables where we all sit together during lunch periods.

The playground is amazing too. There are so many fun things to play on during recess. We have swing sets, seesaws, jungle gyms, basketball courts, and a big open field for running around. My favorite is the big twisty slide that's a million feet tall (well, maybe not a million but it feels really high up)! We even have a track where the gym classes run laps sometimes.

Speaking of gym, that's probably my favorite special class. We play all kinds of sports and games to get exercise. Sometimes we do obstacle courses or jump rope competitions. I'm getting pretty good at basketball! We also have an art class where we get

to paint, draw, sculpt with clay, and make all sorts of creative projects. I made a vase for my mom out of clay that I painted bright pink and purple for Mother's Day.

Music class is fun too because we sing songs and learn to play instruments like xylophones and little drums. English and math are probably my hardest classes because we have lots of worksheets and tests. I like science the most out of the main subjects because we get to do cool experiments. Last week, we made little volcanoes erupt by mixing vinegar and baking soda! We go on field trips pretty often too which is awesome. A few weeks ago, we went to an art museum and got to see all kinds of famous paintings. I liked the abstract ones with all the crazy colors and shapes best. Next month, we're going to a science center that's supposed to have an immersive rainforest exhibit! How cool is that?

The absolute best part of being at this school has to be all the awesome friends I've made though. There's Jason who sits next to me in homeroom and cracks jokes all the time. He's really funny! Then there's Emma who loves soccer as much as I do. We team up during gym soccer games. Marco is super smart and always gets the highest grades. He helps me a lot with my math homework.

We're already talking about throwing an epic birthday party for him since his birthday is coming up soon. His parents are letting him have a sleepover here at the school with pizzas, movies, video games, and everything! How amazing does that sound? You would love it here too! We could be the dream team at recess playing kickball and tag.

Well, I should probably get going so I can start my homework. I have a huge writing assignment due on Greek mythology that I need to get cracking on. Let me know if you want to plan a visit sometime this summer! I can show you around the whole campus. I miss my best friend! Your pal, [Your name]

Dear Jessica,

How are you doing? I miss you so much! I can't wait until summer vacation when we can hang out again. School has been really fun though, and I want to tell you all about my campus life. Our elementary school is huge! The building itself is three stories tall and has classroom wings branching off in different

directions. My favorite part is the big playground out back. It has so many fun things - swings, slides, monkey bars, and even a rock climbing wall! During recess, my friends and I race around playing tag or just goofing off. Sometimes we also play basketball or kickball if we can get a game going.

The playground isn't the only cool place on campus though. We also have a enormous field in the front that's used for P.E. classes and after-school sports. I'm on the soccer team, and we practice there a couple times a week. The field has baseball diamonds too where other kids play. It's awesome having so much open space to run around.

Inside the school is fun too. My favorite room is probably the library. It's like a huge maze filled with books on every subject you can imagine! They have tons of my favorite sci-fi and fantasy novels, but also books on history, science, art - you name it. Sometimes during free periods, I'll curl up in one of the beanbags and read for hours. The librarians are really nice too and are always happy to help you find a good book.

The cafeteria is another place I like to hang out. Sure, the food isn't gourmet cuisine or anything, but they have decent options like pizza, chicken nuggets, salads, and plenty of different fruits and vegetables. My friends and I enjoy trying the

different themed meals they serve too, like Taco Tuesdays or Pasta Fridays. We'll camp out at the biggest table and chat about our days while we eat.

Thankfully, we also have more fun classes too. Art class is awesome - we get to do all kinds of different projects like painting, sculpting, drawing, and even some photography. Music class is cool too, although I'm not very good at singing or playing instruments. I'm in the school band, but I kind of just pretend to know what I'm doing on the drums! At least I look cool rocking out.

Phys ed is definitely a highlight for me. We get to play all sorts of different sports and games, and I love anything where I can run around and be active. Some days we play basketball or floor hockey, while others we might do fitness circuits or athletics like running and jumping. My absolute favorite is when we go swimming though! Our school has this awesome indoor pool, and splashing around is just the best.

That's just a small glimpse into my life here on campus. There's always something fun happening - pep rallies, spirit weeks, field trips, after-school clubs, dances, you name it. The teachers are mostly cool too and try to make learning as engaging as possible. Even though I miss hanging out with you,

going to this school helps make being away from my bestie a bit easier.

I really want you to transfer here next year so we can take on middle school together! Just imagine - we could join all the same clubs, go to dances, and continue having crazy adventures like we used to as kids. Wouldn't that be awesome? Our parents should definitely look into it!

Anyway, that's all for now. I need to go start my math homework (booooo!). Write back soon and tell me what's new with you!

Dear Anna,

How are you doing? I miss you a lot! I can't wait for summer vacation so we can play together again. But for now, let me tell you all about my life at school.

School is really fun, but also very busy. My days are packed with classes, activities, and hanging out with friends. I wake up at 6:30 every morning. Mom makes me a yummy breakfast like

pancakes or oatmeal. Then I get dressed in my school uniform - it's a blue skirt, white shirt, and red sweater.

The school bus picks me up at 7:30. The ride takes about 20 minutes. I sit with my best friend Jessica and we chat the whole way. When we get to school, the hallways are so crowded and noisy with all the kids arriving. I go put my backpack and lunch box in my locker, then head to homeroom class.

My homeroom teacher is Mrs. Taylor and she's really nice. She takes attendance and makes sure we're ready for the day. Then it's off to my first class - math! I'm not very good at math, but I'm trying really hard. We learn about things like

multiplication, fractions, and word problems. Sometimes we use counting blocks or draw pictures to help understand.

After math, I have reading class. I love reading! We take turns reading out loud from different books. This week we're reading Charlotte's Web - it's about a pig named Wilbur and his friend Charlotte, who is a spider. My favorite part so far is when Charlotte writes words in her web to try to save Wilbur's life. Isn't that clever?

Science class is next. We get to do a lot of fun experiments! Last week we made baking soda and vinegar volcanoes that oozed out \"lava.\" This week we're learning about the life cycle of

butterflies and getting to watch caterpillars form chrysalides. I can't wait to see them emerge as beautiful butterflies! Lunchtime is my favorite part of the day. I head to the cafeteria with Jessica, Emily, and the rest of our friend group. We all brought lunch from home today. I have a turkey and cheese sandwich, an apple, baby carrots, and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Sometimes I buy my lunch though - the chicken nuggets and pizza are my favorites. After we eat, we go outside to the playground and run around for recess.

In the afternoon, I have social studies where we learn about history, geography, and different cultures around the world. We just started a unit on ancient Egypt - I can't wait to learn about the pyramids and mummies! My last class of the day is art. We get to do all sorts of creative projects like painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, and more. I made a really cool vase out of clay shaped like a monster. It's glazed bright green and purple! Once the final bell rings at 3:00, I go to my afterschool activities. On Mondays, I have soccer practice. I'm not very good yet, but I have fun running around and trying to kick the ball into the goal. Tuesdays are for art club where we work on bigger projects. This week we're making papier-mâché masks.

Wednesdays I do robotics club which is super cool - we build and

program little robots! Thursday is my day off from activities, so I just go home and play. But Friday is my busy day with both dance class after school and my Girl Scout troop meeting in the evening.

I'm usually exhausted by the time I get home around 7pm. Mom cooks a yummy dinner like tacos or spaghetti and we all sit together to eat as a family. After dinner, I take a bath, put on my pajamas, and get started on my homework from school that day. Once my homework is done, I have a little free time to play on my tablet, read, or play pretend games. Then it's bedtime at 8:30 - phew, what a full day!

Even though my days are jam-packed, I'm having a great time at school so far this year. I've learned so much already and have made wonderful friends. I'll be sure to tell you all about my next school adventures when I see you this summer! Miss you! Love,

Your friend Lily
