摘要：The invention discloses methods and an apparatus for implementing and/orusing a camera device. Methods and apparatus relating to camera devices includingmultiple optical chains are described. Some features are directed to using optical chainswith different lens configurations to support a wide range of focal lengths in a cameradevice. In at least some embodiments non- circular outer lenses are used for opticalchains with large focal lengths while optical chains of the same camera device which havesmaller focal lengths use round outer lenses. Some features relate to implementing acamera having a depth which is less than the maximum length of the outer lens of at leastone optical chain of the camera. Some features relating to image capture of imageportions using optical chains with non-parallel optical axis are described. Some featuresrelate to image capture of image portions using optical chains with different focallengths. In some embodiments different portions of a scene captured by different opticalchains are combined.
