magnetoresistive sensor element (12) that generates at least one magnetoresistivesensor signal (SM,1, SM,2) as well as a first sensor element (14) which operates accordingto the Hall principle and generates a first Hall sensor signal (SH,1), angles of rotation (T)that range between 0 and 360° being detectable by combining the magnetoresistivesensor signal (SM,1, SM,2) and the first Hall sensor signal (SH,1). At least one additionalsensor element (16) that functions according to the Hall principle generates at least oneadditional Hall sensor signal (SH,2) such that angles of rotation (T) of more than 360° canbe detected in such a way that the combination of the first Hall sensor signal (SH,1) andthe at least one additional Hall sensor signal (SH,2) is used for counting forward orbackward the counting pulses created by an edge change (22) of the first Hall sensorsignal (SH,1).
