摘要：There is disclosed a method of manufacturing a tubing, or casing to be used inthe production of sausages, which tubing comprises a paper base material of long-fibredmanila hemp having an air-dry weight of no more than 15 g/m2, which manila hemp paperis wet-strengthened by synthetic resin(s) and /or viscose and synthetic resin(s), themethod comprising the steps of forming the wet-strengthened paper into tubing,impregnating said tubing by viscose which is presented to the outer surface only of thesaid tubing by means of a substantially annular gap of a single die whilst the inner surfaceof the said tubing is temporarily supported by support means, passing the tube throughone or more acid and salt baths so as to coagulate the viscose and thereby regeneratethe viscose into cellulose in such a manner that the fibres of the paper are embeddedand bonded with the regenerated cellulose, and plasticizing the tubing.
