This16-bit(dual-octal)noninvertingbustransceivercontainstwoseparatesupplyrails.BporthasVCCB,whichissettooperateat3.3Vand5V.AporthasVCCA,whichissettooperateat2.5Vand3.3V.Thisallowsfortranslationfroma2.5-Vtoa3.3-Venvironment,andviceversa,orfroma3.3-Vtoa5-Venvironment,andviceversa.

TheSN74ALVC164245isdesignedforasynchronouscommunicationbetweendatabuses.Thecontrolcircuitry(1DIR,2DIR,1OE,and2OE)ispoweredbyVCCA.

Toensurethehigh-impedancestateduringpoweruporpowerdown,theoutput-enable(OE)inputshouldbetiedtoVCCthroughapullupresistor;theminimumvalueoftheresistorisdeterminedbythecurrent-sinkingcapabilityofthedriver.
