摘要：The invention provides a chair (10) having a seat assembly (12) and a backsupport assembly (14), the seat assembly (12) including a seat frame (44); sheet material(32) that is stretched and secured in place relative to said frame, the sheet material (32)defining a forward support portion (34) and a rear support portion (36); wherein the frontsupport portion (34) is of relatively high resistance to resilient deformation and said rearsupport portion (36) of relatively low resistance to resilient deformation such that theweight of a person sitting on the chair causes differential deformation of the front andrear support portions whereby the rear support portion is deformed to a greater extentthan the forward support portion, the differential deformation of the forward and rearsupport portions acting to locate the occupants ischial tuberosity behind the forwardsupport portion thereby resisting forward movement of the sitter from the chair andthus retaining the sitter in a correct seating position. The invention also provides for amethod of securing a sheet material (32) in a seat frame (44) to form a support portion(34, 36).
