Title:A Memorable National Day Holiday
The National Day holiday in China, often coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a time of joy and celebration. This year, the golden week from October 1st to 7th was particularly memorable for me as it was filled with new experiences and adventures.
On the first day of the holiday, my family and I embarked on a journey to the majestic Mount Tai, one of the Five Great Mountains of China. The early morning was crisp and cool, perfect for hiking. We started our ascent from the Red Gate, passing through the Gate of Heaven and reaching the Jade Emperor Peak. The breathtaking views of the sunrise from the top were worth every step, and the fresh air filled our lungs with invigorating energy. The historical significance of the mountain, with its ancient temples and inscriptions, made the experience even more enriching.
The following days were spent exploring the city of Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius. We visited the Confucius Temple, Confucius Mansion, and Confucius Cemetery. Each site was a testament to the wisdom and philosophy of Confucius, who
has had a profound influence on Chinese culture and education. The intricate carvings and serene gardens were a visual treat, and the peaceful atmosphere allowed us to reflect on the teachings of this great philosopher.
A highlight of the trip was our visit to the Qufu Confucius Academy. There, we participated in a traditional tea ceremony, which was not only a delightful experience but also an educational one. We learned about the art of tea-making and the etiquette associated with it. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and hospitality, and it was fascinating to see how tea, a simple beverage, could bring people together and foster a sense of community.
In the evenings, we enjoyed the local cuisine, which was a delightful mix of flavors. One dish that stood out was the braised pork belly, known as \"Red Cooked Pork,\" which is a traditional dish in Shandong Province. The tender meat, infused with soy sauce and spices, was a feast for the taste buds.
As the holiday came to an end, I felt a sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the experiences I had. The National Day holiday was not just a break from routine but a journey that broadened my horizons and enriched my understanding of
Chinese history and culture. It was a reminder of the beauty of our nation's landscapes and the wisdom of our ancestors. I returned home with a heart full of memories and a mind full of knowledge, eagerly anticipating the adventures that future holidays might bring.
This National Day holiday was truly a time of discovery and appreciation, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
