An unforgettable dining experience
I was not a good example of saving food, though my parents always teach me to save food and they also do it themselves. However, a lunch with Grandpa has changed me.
Last weekend, Grandpa came to visit us. We enjoyed a rich lunch. When I finished eating, there was rice not only in my bowl but also before me on the table. Noticing this, Grandpa said patiently, “Junjun, we should never waste food like this. Can you imagine how much time and energy it takes the farmers to grow all this food?” And he showed me pictures and videos showing how he and my uncles worked in the fields.
It was an unforgettable and meaningful meal. From it I learned we should save food, which is a good habit and a good way to show respect for the farmers' hard work.
