摘要：A sync detecting and protecting circuit for use in a reproducing apparatus isprovided. The sync detecting and protecting circuit has a first detector (310) fordetecting a pre-amble pattern of the digital data received from the recording medium,

and outputting a corresponding area signal, a second detector (320) for detecting a syncof the received digital data, comparing the detected sync and a predetermined syncpattern, and outputting a sync detection signal, an ID separator (330) for separating theID code following the detected sync, comparing the separated ID with those of theprevious track and sync block, and outputting an ID comparison signal, and a controlsignal generator (340) for generating a sync control signal on the basis of the syncdetection signal and the ID comparison signal, and generating a pseudo-sync controlsignal if the detected sync has an error. Therefore, the sync used for detecting data at apredetermined position is accurately detected and a pseudo-sync control signal isgenerated even if an error is found in the sync, thereby enabling the correct detection ofthe data in the predetermined position.
