摘要：A method of treating particle-free water containing anionic water-solublematerial dissolved therein comprises introducing into the water a water-soluble polymerto coagulate said anionic material, the water-soluble polymer having an exclusivelycarbon atom \"backbone\" chain to which there are attached a plurality of rings of or suchrings in the salt form, wherein A is an alkylene group of 2-6 carbons, of which 2 to 3 onlyextend in a chain between the adjoined N atoms; R is H, C1-C6 alkyl, cyclohexyl, hydroxylsubstituted C1-C6 alkyl groups or groups of the formula -(ANH)xH, where A is as definedabove; and x is an integer having a value of 1 to 4. A finely divided negatively-chargedsolid inorganic material, such as clays or diatomaceous earth, may be added in which casesuspended solid material may be present initially in the water. Polyvalent metal salts ofstrong mineral acids may also be added.
