摘要：A biological agent detector (10) for detecting predetermined biological agents(30). The biological agent detector includes an optical fiber (28), a cladding (29) that clads
a length of the optical fiber and a bioindicator disposed within the cladding. Thebiological agent detector also includes a coherent light source (18) that excites theoptical fiber and a biological agent signature detector (26,16) that detects the presenceof a biological agent based upon a change in a resonance characteristic of the opticalfiber caused by absorption of the predetermined biological agent into the cladding ofthe fiber.
