measuring system 4 with a processing device 5 for the contactless determination of thetemperature of the material to be treated 200. The treatment device 2 is suitable anddesigned to be controlled in dependence on the determined temperature. In this case,the measuring system 4 is suitable and designed to generate electromagnetic measuringradiation. The measuring system 4 has a transmitting device 14 for transmitting
electromagnetic measuring radiation into the treatment space 3. The measuring system 4additionally has a receiving device 24 for receiving measuring radiation which is influencedby the material to be treated 200 and directly reflected. The measuring radiation has abandwidth with at least two distinguishable frequencies. In this case, the measuringsystem 4 is suitable and designed to detect a characteristic variable for a wave propertyof the received measuring radiation taking into account the frequency. The processingdevice 5 is suitable and designed to determine a characteristic parameter based on thechange in the wave property of the received measurement radiation with respect to thetransmitted measurement radiation and to derive the temperature of the material 200 on
the basis of the frequency dependence of the parameter.
